Looking Back on December

December Mitten Orders

The hectic holiday season is over, and we’ve finally caught our breath, so we’ve found some time to write our December blog in January. We’re sure you understand. Our wonderful customers have made this the best season ever for The Mitten Company. As you can see from the photo, the car was filled with many orders on our daily trips to the post office. Yep, we go to USPS almost every day to make sure your mittens are delivered as soon as possible, but that plan was pretty much ruined by the perfect storm of COVID-19, much busier than usual internet orders for everything, and an almost complete breakdown at the regional postal distribution centers. Many customers emailed us as to why their orders hadn’t arrived yet. Unfortunately, once the Post Office gets the mitten packages, they’re completely out of our control. On a personal level, we also had packages that didn’t arrive on time. Hopefully, the delays are all in the rearview mirror, and new orders are now being delivered on time. As you might have noticed, our inventory is running very low. Our seamstress is working overtime to help us get ready for next season, so we won’t be adding any new mittens until we open on October 1st, 2021. That doesn’t mean we’re closed at this time. The end of this season is March 31st, and we still have many pairs to choose from. Stay tuned for our end of the season sale for some great mittens at great prices. We hope everyone is doing what they can to stay healthy. Wear a mask when you have to, wash those hands, social distance, and wear mittens to stay warm!
